Introduction
The FBI is investigating the death of a passenger, identified as 35-year-old Michael Virgil, on Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas cruise ship. The incident occurred during a voyage from Los Angeles to Ensenada, Mexico.

Details of the Incident
Reports indicate that Virgil was involved in an altercation with crew members, allegedly attempting to break down a door to a room where a crew member had sought refuge. Security personnel ultimately restrained him. The circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation by the FBI and the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.

Operational Context
The Navigator of the Seas continued its itinerary after the incident. Royal Caribbean Group has expressed condolences and is cooperating with authorities in the investigation. A fellow passenger has alleged that Virgil was intoxicated and had behaved erratically, threatening him and assaulting crew members.
