What an estimate is, and what it isn’t

The calculators apply the damages rules for your type of claim to your answers. The result is general information, not a promise of any amount.

What it does

  • Prices pain and suffering on the injury scale for your type of claim
  • Adds past and future income, treatment and care
  • Shows a low to high range, not a single figure
  • Sends your answers to our team, so a lawyer can review them if you ask

What it can’t do

  • Give legal advice about your situation
  • Weigh every fact a lawyer would ask about
  • Stop the time limits that apply to your claim
  • Give a firm figure for flights, cruises, injuries overseas or defective products, where federal, foreign or contract rules and caps can apply
  • Make us your lawyers. That happens only once we agree to act and confirm it in writing

How an online estimate works

Choose a calculator
  1. Answer the questions

What happened, your injuries, time off work and treatment, then your contact details. Plain questions, no forms to download.

  2. See your range

A low to high estimate with a breakdown by heading.

  3. Decide what’s next

We receive your answers with your contact details. Tell us if you want a lawyer to review your claim.

Do I have to commit to anything, or give my details?

Using a calculator doesn’t commit you to anything. You see an early range after a few questions, and your full estimate asks for your name and contact details.

How accurate is the estimate?

It applies the damages rules for your type of claim to your answers and shows a low to high range. Flights, cruises, injuries overseas and defective products can fall under federal, foreign or contract rules, so treat those figures as a rougher guide. The range is before legal costs and any refunds, such as to WorkCover, Medicare or Centrelink, so you would receive less. It is general information, not legal advice, and a lawyer’s assessment of your full facts may differ.

My situation isn’t listed. What now?

Send an enquiry instead. Our legal team reviews every enquiry, and we will be in touch within 2 business hours.

Does using a calculator make you my lawyer?

No. Neither an estimate nor an enquiry makes us your lawyers. We act for you only once we agree to take on your claim and confirm it in writing.

Are there time limits?

Yes. Some are only months long, one is due a month after you first see a lawyer, and claims for injuries on a flight end two years after the flight arrives. Missing a limit can end your claim, so get advice early.
