Incident Overview
Two teenagers were taken to hospital after a police pursuit ended in a motorcycle crash in Sydneys southwest. Police allege the motorcycle was speeding before the rider failed to stop and the bike crashed less than 30 seconds after the pursuit began.

  • Injuries:
    • 15-year-old girl, pillion passenger, treated for leg injuries and taken to The Childrens Hospital at Westmead; injuries not believed to be life-threatening and undergoing surgery
    • 17-year-old boy, rider, minor injuries and remains in Liverpool Hospital under police guard

Emergency Response

  • NSW Police initiated a pursuit after the motorcycle was allegedly seen speeding; the motorcycle crashed shortly afterwards.
  • Paramedics treated the 15-year-old at the scene before transporting her to The Childrens Hospital at Westmead; the rider was taken to Liverpool Hospital.
  • Road closures and diversions were not stated.

Police Investigation
A Critical Incident Team is leading the investigation, with specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit also involved. Police said inquiries are continuing and further charges may be laid.

  • Police allege the 17-year-old rider was not wearing a helmet and returned positive roadside tests for alcohol and cannabis, and was a suspended learner rider.
  • He has been charged with seven offences including aggravated dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, learner exceeded the speed limit by more than 30km/h, and using an obscured or defaced number plate.
  • He was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Childrens Court on Saturday.
