Emergency services were called to the busy intersection of Bungarribee Road and Lock Street in Blacktown about 9am. Police said a white Toyota Corolla and a maroon Honda CR-V crashed, causing the Toyota to mount the curb and hit three men waiting to cross the road outside Desizzz Kitchen. (Nine) Three pedestrians have been rushed to hospital in serious condition after a car crash in Sydney’s west. A car on its side and a tree knocked over. (Nine) The men are believed to be all aged in their 30s. Kyra Anstas was nearby and rushed to help, holding the hand of one workers who asked her to call his father. “I tried really hard to stay calm for him and for his dad and let him know he was pretty hurt but he was OK,” she told 9News. CCTV images show the maroon Honda turning right into Lock Street, clipping the white Toyota, which was travelling along Bungarribee Road. It’s unclear what colour the traffic lights were. Aerial vision from the crash scene showed the white Toyota flipped on its side and a tree knocked over. Doctors from a nearby medical centre, paramedics, police and firefighters responded to the incident, according to Fire and Rescue NSW. The men are believed to be all aged in their 30s. (Nine) Paramedics treated the trio for multiple injuries before rushing them all to Westmead Hospital in critical condition. Police took the drivers of both cars, believed to be aged in their 20s and 30s, to Blacktown Hospital for mandatory testing. Officers have established a crime scene, which will be examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit. Blacktown Police Area Command Superintendent Brendan Gorman told reporters that speed and the traffic control signals at the intersection will form part of the investigation. Firefighters have cleared the branches and debris on the crash site and have rendered the site safe. CCTV footage shows the moment the Corolla collided with the three men.
