A lawyer representing Australian passengers injured on board a Singapore Airlines flight that struck turbulence last month says an official investigation into what happened may influence the airline’s final compensation offer. The airline will offer passengers with minor injuries around 15,000 Australian dollars, or those with more serious injuries will receive almost $40,000 to cover their immediate needs. Lawyer Peter Carter says some aviation experts believe the incident could have been avoided if the plane took a different route which would impact compensation if proven.
