A freak workplace accident has severely injured a 37-year-old man on the Gold Coast.
The man was on Expansion Street in Molendinar just before 9am on Friday when the incident occurred.
It is reported that the man was standing on the back of a truck in an attempt to secure a load of steel frames. The steel became unstable and slid off the truck, hitting the man as it fell, crushing his legs.

The mans coworkers scrambled to help him until emergency services arrived.
Queensland Ambulance Service Gavin Fuller said “The break was actually quite severe that the bone has penetrated through the skin.”
“He was in quite a fair bit of pain and quite a fair bit of distress.”
The man was taken to hospital for further treatment.
