Circumstances:

On October 29, 2025, a Sling 2 light sport aircraft was involved in a **foreign object damage (FOD)** incident at Heck Field Aerodrome, Queensland.

After completing a routine flight, the aircraft landed safely and taxied without issue. However, upon subsequent inspection at Archerfield Aerodrome, minor damage was discovered on one of the propeller blades. The damage was attributed to FOD sustained during the landing or taxi phase at Heck Field Aerodrome.

No injuries occurred, and the aircraft remained controllable throughout the flight. The incident underscores the potential hazard of loose debris or small stones on unsealed or grass aerodrome surfaces, particularly for composite or light sport aircraft equipped with low-slung propeller arcs.

Recreational Aviation Australia (RAAus) recorded the event and classified the occurrence as a minor FOD damage incident.
