**A light aircraft crash occurred near the eastern border of Leopold Downs Station (now known as Yarranggi), northeast of Fitzroy Crossing in Kimberley, WA. The incident left two men seriously injured, who were subsequently airlifted to Broome Hospital by the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
