Circumstances:

The aircraft was conducting a private flight and returned to Sale Airport for landing. During the landing sequence, the aircraft encountered gusting wind conditions.

As the aircraft touched down, the right main landing gear collapsed. The right wing tip then struck the ground, and the aircraft subsequently veered off the runway.

The Cessna 150 sustained substantial damage as a result of the occurrence. No fatalities were reported. The ATSB was notified and recorded the accident in accordance with its investigation processes.
