  • West Footscray (May 12): A 66-year-old pedestrian from Kinglake died after being struck on Geelong Street.
  • Swan Hill West (May 12): A 26-year-old man from Buloke died after losing control of his car on Sea Lake-Swan Hill Road.
  • Pootilla (May 11): One driver killed following a two-vehicle crash near Ballarat.
  • Moutajup (May 10): A 53-year-old motorcyclist was killed; passenger critically injured after colliding with a car.

National Road Safety Week Warning
As National Road Safety Week begins, police have issued an urgent warning to all Victorians to slow down, stay alert, and obey road rules.

Detective Sergeant Mark Amos emphasized the preventable nature of many of these crashes:

“Pay attention, be alert, slow down, concentrate. Without doing that, you’re going to lose somebody — somebody dear, somebody close, and somebody important.”

Increased enforcement measures are now underway across high-risk zones, targeting dangerous driving behaviors such as speeding, fatigue, and failure to obey signage.
