Incident Overview

A 66-year-old Three Moon man died following a two-vehicle collision south of Monto on Wednesday, 8 July 2026.

Location and Time

The collision occurred on the Burnett Highway at Saleyards Road at about 8.20am.

Reported Sequence

Police reported that a blue utility travelling south collided with the rear of a white utility that was waiting to turn right into Saleyards Road.

Fatality

The blue utility’s driver and sole occupant sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, where he later died. The 66-year-old Monto man driving the other utility was not injured.

Police Investigation

Police are investigating the circumstances of the collision.
