Incident Overview
A teenage boy has been charged after police allege he was speeding in a stolen car before a crash in Melbourne’s west that killed one of his passengers. Police allege the stolen Skoda sedan deliberately struck the rear of a Toyota during a pursuit before colliding with two other vehicles and rolling into a nearby front yard.

Police Investigation
Police allege the Skoda was travelling at speeds of up to 180km/h and deliberately crashed into the rear of the Toyota during the pursuit, before hitting a Ford sedan and a Ford Ranger and rolling into a nearby front yard. Investigators say the Skoda was stolen from Yellow Box Street, Maidstone, between Wednesday and Thursday, and police are working to identify two other occupants who allegedly fled the scene.

  • A 17-year-old boy from the Wyndham area was charged with culpable driving causing death and other driving offences.
  • He was remanded in custody to appear before a children’s court.
