Incident Overview
A 43-year-old mother of two died after a white Toyota Tarago struck her and another pedestrian on The Boulevarde in Lakemba, Sydney. The woman, Nurhayati Pamungkas, was walking to buy groceries before collecting her children from school when the crash occurred last Tuesday. She died at about 8pm on Monday, 3 August 2026, after spending several days in intensive care.

Vehicles Involved
- White Toyota Tarago people mover
- Two cars on the opposite side of The Boulevarde were also struck after the people mover hit the pedestrians.
Injuries/Fatalities
- Fatality: 43-year-old Nurhayati Pamungkas, a mother of two, was taken to Liverpool Hospital in critical condition and later died.
- Serious injury: A 64-year-old male pedestrian remained on life support at St George Hospital.
- Driver: The 82-year-old Toyota Tarago driver was treated at the scene and taken to hospital for mandatory testing and assessment.
Emergency Response
Both pedestrians were treated after the collision. Pamungkas was taken to Liverpool Hospital and placed in an induced coma in intensive care before she died surrounded by family.
Police Investigation
The 7NEWS report stated that the 82-year-old driver had not been charged at the time of publication. The report does not state a final finding about the cause of the collision or legal responsibility.
