Crash Description
WA Police allege the teen had been riding erratically in the Woodvale area before the collision. While travelling near Edgewater Drive, the e-bike collided with Shelley Harris, causing fatal injuries. The rider was later arrested and charged.

The accused has been granted bail with conditions, including a prohibition on operating any motor vehicle, e-bike, or e-vehicle.

Family Statement
John Harris, Shelley’s husband, expressed his gratitude to WA Police for their support, describing the loss as “both a shock and a tragedy.” He praised Shelley’s career as an “excellent nurse” and highlighted her admired work ethic, compassion, and infectious smile.

Broader Context
Shelley Harris’s death has been included in a broader WA Government inquiry into e-rideables, launched in June following several fatal and serious incidents. The investigation will assess compliance, usage in pedestrian areas, and potential regulatory changes.
