Incident Overview
A man has died following a collision between a car and a livestock truck that closed part of Albany Highway in Western Australia’s Great Southern region on Wednesday afternoon, October 15, 2025.

Emergency services were called to the scene between Mount Barker and Narrikup, about 360 kilometres south-east of Perth, around 2:30 pm after reports that a hatchback had collided with a sheep truck.

Police confirmed that a 29-year-old male driver of the hatchback was killed in the crash. The driver of the livestock truck sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The crash caused the truck to overturn into a roadside culvert, while the car sustained severe front-end damage. Albany Highway was closed in both directions for several hours before reopening under speed restrictions.
