Introduction

A tragic workplace accident in Pinkenba, near Brisbane airport, has resulted in the death of a 30-year-old man from the Sunshine Coast, sparking an investigation by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland.

Incident Overview

The man was electrocuted while conducting electrical work on the roof of a business on Bancroft Road. Emergency services were called to the scene last Tuesday, and the man was critically injured and required immediate resuscitation before being transported to the hospital.

Emergency Response

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) dispatched four crews to assist paramedics in reaching and treating the man using a crane. Despite the efforts to save him, the man succumbed to his injuries on Friday, March 1.

Investigation

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland has launched an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the electrocution and to evaluate compliance with workplace safety regulations at the site.
