A 51-year-old male passenger went overboard from Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Epic on December 26th, 2024, during a Western Caribbean cruise. Despite an extensive search and rescue operation, the man was not found.
The incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. while the ship was sailing from Ocho Rios, Jamaica, to Nassau, Bahamas. Norwegian Cruise Line alerted authorities, and a search was initiated by the Bahamas Rescue Coordination Center. Unfortunately, the search was unsuccessful, and the ship was cleared to continue its journey.
Norwegian Cruise Line expressed condolences to the passenger’s family, who were onboard the ship and are receiving support from the crew.
