Introduction

A gastrointestinal illness outbreak aboard Caribbean Princess affected passengers and crew during a 13-night voyage reported on May 7, 2026.

What Happened

The final reported figures were 145 passengers and 15 crew members experiencing gastrointestinal symptoms. The vessel was operating a voyage that departed Fort Lauderdale on April 28. The reported symptoms included vomiting and diarrhoea.

Response and Investigation

The ship increased sanitation and disinfection, isolated symptomatic people where appropriate, collected samples and worked with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. No deaths were reported in connection with the outbreak.
