  • At approximately 07:00 p.m. local time (17:00 UTC), the vessel’s medical team alerted the Port Authority of Trapani after diagnosing a probable heart attack.
  • Coordination was immediately taken over by MRSC Palermo with support from the Italian Coast Guard, CIRM (Centro Internazionale Radio Medico), and the 118 emergency medical service.

Rescue Operation:

  • Despite adverse sea conditions, the Coast Guard deployed the patrol boat SAR CP 330.
  • By 09:15 p.m., the crew member was safely transferred from MSC Magnifica onto the patrol vessel.
  • The patient was then transported to the Port of Trapani, where an ambulance was on standby for immediate transfer to hospital care.
