Introduction
Celestyal Cruises has extended cancellations to its early Mediterranean program after both of its vessels remained delayed in the Persian Gulf due to ongoing regional instability. The disruptions have impacted the planned start of the company’s 2026 Mediterranean cruise season.

Details of the Operational Changes

Canceled Sailings:

  • The affected sailings involve Celestyal Discovery, with departures scheduled for March 27 and March 30, 2026 canceled.
  • These cancellations follow earlier withdrawals of March departures, effectively suspending all remaining sailings for the month.

Fleet Status:

  • Both Celestyal vessels remain positioned in the Gulf region, with ships currently located in Doha and Dubai.
  • The vessels are reported to be technically operational.
  • Passenger disembarkation has been completed for those previously onboard.

Reason for Delay:

  • The delay is linked to regional geopolitical instability affecting maritime transit routes.
  • Ship movements are subject to clearance for safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
  • Authorities continue to monitor navigational risks in the region.

Operational Impact:

  • The disruption has delayed the start of Celestyal’s Greek islands and Eastern Mediterranean program.
  • Celestyal Journey is expected to resume operations in early April, subject to conditions.
  • The company intends to reposition both vessels to the Mediterranean once safe transit is possible.

Passenger Arrangements:

  • Guests affected by the cancellations have been offered:
    • Full refunds, or
    • Future cruise credits (FCC)
  • Passengers are advised to coordinate rebooking or reimbursement through their booking channels.

Current Status:

  • Celestyal Cruises continues to monitor the situation and coordinate with relevant authorities.
  • The company has indicated its intention to resume Mediterranean operations as soon as conditions permit.
