  • The incident was reported at approximately 3:30 p.m. local time as the ship navigated near the Mar Grosso area of Laguna, Santa Catarina.
  • Costa Diadema was operating a voyage between Santos and Buenos Aires at the time.
  • The vessel held position roughly half a nautical mile offshore during the operation.

Response and Transfer Ashore:

  • Following a request from the Laguna Port Authority, the Santa Catarina Military Fire Department was deployed to assist.
  • Firefighters escorted the ship’s tender carrying the passenger through the harbor entrance.
  • The 56-year-old woman was landed at the pier, where a medical team from the Mobile Emergency Care Service was already standing by.

Medical Care:

  • After an initial assessment at the pier, the passenger was transported by ambulance to Laguna Hospital for further evaluation.
  • Authorities have not released updates regarding her condition following hospital admission.

Operational Outcome:

  • Once the disembarkation was completed, firefighting personnel escorted the tender back to the ship.
  • Costa Diadema was subsequently cleared to resume its voyage.
  • No other passengers or crew were reported affected during the incident.
