What is the Emerging Leaders Program?

The Carter Capner Law Emerging Leaders Program is intended to develop high-performing personnel – who are already team members or are new graduates – into the leaders we need now and in the future.

Work, learn & grow alongside industry-leading lawyers practicing at the forefront of legal developments who publicly advocate for the protection and enhancement of legal rights.

Who is eligible to apply?

The 2025 program is open to:-

  • graduates who have completed a Carter Capner Law cadetship;
  • recent Queensland law graduates with a high academic achievement;
  • second semester final year law students working as a paralegal or legal assistant.

How is the program structured?

This is a two-year program based in our Brisbane offices with opportunities to be exposed to at least two of the following fields commensurate with your preferences and aptitude: personal injury compensation, medical negligence, consumer litigation, class actions, TPD claims, insurance litigation, estate litigation and business disputes & transactions.

What qualities should I possess?

  • A strong, consistent academic record and determination to maintain good academic standards
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Honesty and enthusiasm
  • A strong work ethic and a desire for continuous learning
  • Initiative and attention to detail
  • A commitment to giving a leg up to those in adversity

How are program participants paid?

You will be employed as a permanent member of our team, paid a salary (reviewed annually) and will accrue all normal entitlements under the National Employment Standards.
