Circumstances:
On September 10, 2025, an XAG remotely piloted aircraft system (RPAS) was engaged in agricultural spraying operations near Devonport, Tasmania.
At approximately 12:09 local time, while manoeuvring, the RPAS stopped responding to command inputs from the operator. With no further control possible, the RPAS descended and collided with terrain.
The aircraft was substantially damaged in the accident and deemed beyond economical repair. No injuries occurred, and there was no damage to third-party property.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) has confirmed the incident and logged it as an agricultural RPAS accident.
