Circumstances:

**Shortly after takeoff from Perth Airport, Skippers Aviation flight PY5003 experienced smoke and hot air emanating from the cockpit ventilation system. This prompted the crew to return to Perth. During the approach, the aircraft unintentionally descended below the minimum safe altitude due to the increased workload and communications with air traffic control, which compromised the aircraft’s stability. Thankfully, there were no injuries, and the aircraft itself sustained no damage. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) is investigating the incident to determine the cause of the smoke and the subsequent descent below safe levels.**
