Circumstances:

On September 22, 2025, a Robinson R22 helicopter was involved in an agricultural accident near Century Mine Aerodrome in Queensland.

At approximately 07:47 local time, during take-off, the helicopter struck a tree before colliding with terrain. The aircraft sustained substantial damage as a result of the impact.

The sole pilot, who was conducting agricultural flying operations, survived the crash but sustained serious injuries. Emergency services responded, and the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) confirmed that the occurrence is under investigation.

Wire strikes, terrain hazards, and vegetation obstructions are well-documented risks for low-level agricultural operations. This accident highlights the need for vigilance during take-off and initial climb, especially when operating from non-standard or obstructed landing zones.
