Circumstances:

**During its descent toward Perth Airport, Qantas flight QF781, an Airbus A330-202, encountered an engine issue that resulted in a loud bang heard by passengers. The flight crew promptly initiated protocols for such incidents, leading to the manual shutdown of the affected engine. Despite the mid-air scare, the aircraft was able to continue and complete a safe landing on a single engine. Emergency services were on standby at the airport as the plane made a priority landing and taxied to the gate, where passengers disembarked normally. The incident, while distressing for those on board, highlighted the A330-200’s capability to operate on one engine and the crew’s adherence to safety procedures. Engineers are currently inspecting the aircraft to identify the cause of the engine problem.**
