On 15th November 2023, a Coulson Aviation Lockheed C-130 Hercules sustained minor damage at Perth Airport, WA, while being serviced. The aircraft, one of Australia’s largest firefighting planes, was affected by a gust of wind that caused it to fall from a jack, damaging the left wing. The incident has temporarily grounded this critical firefighting asset during the onset of the summer bushfire season in Western Australia. Repairs are underway and expected to be completed by the end of the month. This comes after a previous incident involving a Coulson Aviation Boeing 737 firefighting jet in February at Fitzgerald National Park.
