Circumstances:
**A serious incident occurred at Oita Airport involving a Honda HA-420 HondaJet operated by Honda Airways. The aircraft, engaged in a training flight, experienced a runway excursion to the left side of runway 01 during landing. It came to a halt on the adjacent grass area, heading south. The three crew members aboard, including two trainers and a trainee, reported no injuries. While the extent of the damage to the aircraft is unknown, there were no signs of major damage. As a result of the incident, the sole runway was closed for approximately one hour, disrupting the airport’s schedule and causing six commercial flights, including those operated by Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways, to be delayed or cancelled. The Japan Transport Safety Board (JTSB) has initiated an investigation, recognizing it as a serious incident potentially leading to an accident. This event has highlighted the importance of runway safety and operational standards at airports.**
