Circumstances:

The aircraft was operating near Charters Towers Airport when, during the flight, the engine was reported to have run rough. The aircraft subsequently collided with terrain approximately 2.96 km from the airport.

After the collision, the aircraft came to rest inverted. The pilot, the sole occupant, was not injured.
