Circumstances:

The glider was conducting a training flight from a private airstrip in the Tunbridge area of Tasmania. Shortly after take-off, the Grob G103 Twin Astir crashed near the departure point.

The passenger, described as a woman in her 50s undertaking an air experience or training flight, was fatally injured at the scene. The pilot sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital for medical treatment.

The glider was destroyed as a result of the impact. Emergency services attended the scene, and authorities were notified of the occurrence. Further details regarding the sequence of events have not been publicly released.
