Circumstances:
A tragic accident occurred on 28th October 2023, involving a Socata TB20 Trinidad registered as VH-JTY, which impacted wooded terrain in the Eungella National Park near Finch Hatton, Queensland. The two occupants, a married couple with extensive flying experience, did not survive the crash. The plane, en route from Townsville to Palmyra, was destroyed upon impact. Investigations by the ATSB are underway, and forensic specialists are being deployed to confirm the identities of the victims and the circumstances surrounding the crash.
