Circumstances:
On 8th October 2023, a tragic incident unfolded near Merriton, SA, where a Cessna 172N Skyhawk aircraft struck powerlines and subsequently crashed in a paddock. The aftermath resulted in one immediate fatality, while the pilot succumbed to his injuries overnight. The aircraft was unfortunately consumed by fire.
