Circumstances:

The aircraft was operating a ferry flight after dropping off passengers at Emu Point. Shortly after departure, during the initial climb at approximately 900 feet, the pilot experienced an engine failure.

The pilot, who was the sole occupant, remained in contact with air traffic control and conducted a forced landing near a floodplain north-east of Peppimenarti in the Northern Territory.

Emergency services later located the aircraft, and the pilot was rescued and transported to Royal Darwin Hospital for medical assessment and treatment. The extent of damage to the aircraft was not confirmed at the time of reporting.
