**A private Cessna aircraft encountered a critical situation leading to a crash landing on a beach in Hervey Bay, Fraser Coast, QLD. The incident occurred at around 14:00, following a technical malfunction reported by the pilot. After an unsuccessful mayday call to air traffic control and subsequent loss of communication, the aircraft crash-landed in a paddock near Dundowran Beach. The pilot, a man in his 30s, sustained a head injury with a laceration above his eye. He was in a stable condition and was seen communicating with emergency responders before being transported to Hervey Bay hospital. The aircraft was completely destroyed by fire after the crash. The exact cause of the technical malfunction and the sequence of events leading to the crash are currently under investigation.
