Circumstances:

On July 3, 2025, a Cessna 172S Skyhawk SP registered VH-USM and operated by Aero-Star Aviation Pty Ltd was involved in a landing accident at Adelaide-Parafield Airport, South Australia. The aircraft was conducting a local training flight with one occupant on board.
While landing on runway 03R, the pilot encountered control issues, resulting in a bounced landing followed by a hard touchdown. During the impact, the nose landing gear collapsed and a propeller strike occurred. The aircraft sustained substantial damage. No injuries were reported.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) has initiated an investigation. Preliminary information confirms the aircraft was damaged during a hard landing sequence that resulted in nose gear collapse and propeller contact with the runway.
