Circumstances:
On 18th September 2023, Bamboo Airways flight QH83, operating a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, encountered a runway overrun during its takeoff from Melbourne-Tullamarine Airport’s temporarily shortened runway 34. After rotation past the displaced threshold, the aircraft caused a jet blast, affecting the immediate vicinity. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. This incident followed another on 7th September 2023 involving an Airbus A330 under similar circumstances, prompting the airport to halt certain runway works pending further review.
