Circumstances:

While nearing cruise altitude, flight VA336’s rudder trim was accidentally activated, causing an unexpected yaw and roll to the left. The pilot quickly tried to stabilize the plane via the autopilot, but soon after, disconnected the autopilot to manually restore normal flight. An E/GPWS BANK ANGLE alert was activated during this event. The ATSB is currently conducting an in-depth investigation.
