Circumstances:

The helicopter was departing Weipa Airport in Queensland when the occurrence took place during take-off. During the take-off sequence, a skid became caught on a tie-down cable.

Following the snag, the pilot lost control of the helicopter. The aircraft subsequently rolled over on the aerodrome surface.

The Bell 206 sustained substantial damage as a result of the rollover. The ATSB was notified of the accident and recorded the occurrence in accordance with its aviation safety reporting processes.
