Circumstances:

The gyroplane was conducting a private flight after departing Teewah Airfield on the Noosa North Shore. During the en route phase, the pilot observed a high engine manifold pressure indication and noted a reduction in available power.

Following the partial power loss, the gyroplane descended and collided with terrain near the airfield. Emergency services attended the scene, and both occupants were assisted.

The AutoGyro Cavalon sustained substantial damage in the impact. The ATSB was notified of the occurrence and commenced assessment activities. Further investigation details had not been released at the time of reporting.
