Circumstances:

The aircraft, operating as firebomber BMBR358 with the callsign “Bomber 358,” was conducting aerial firefighting operations in support of efforts at Patchewollock. At approximately 17:25 local time, the Air Tractor AT-802 commenced its takeoff roll at Linga Airfield in Victoria.

During the departure, the aircraft crashed and subsequently caught fire. Emergency services responded, and the pilot, the sole occupant, survived the impact but sustained injuries. The aircraft was written off due to the extensive fire damage.
