Incident Overview
A man in his 20s has been seriously injured after his truck towing a large horse float rolled over on the Hume Highway in New South Wales’ Southern Highlands region on Thursday afternoon, October 23, 2025.

Emergency services were called to the southbound lanes between Sallys Corner Road and Penrose Forest Way at Sutton Forest at approximately 1:30 pm after reports the truck had overturned and come to rest on its roof.

The driver was trapped inside the vehicle for about two hours before being freed by emergency crews. He was airlifted to Liverpool Hospital in a serious but stable condition. The condition of the horses in the float has not yet been confirmed.

Police closed the southbound lanes and one northbound lane of the highway while rescue and recovery operations were underway. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and expect lengthy delays.
