Incident Overview
Two people have died and three others have been injured following a serious traffic crash on Doomadgee Road in northwest Queensland on Friday morning, November 7, 2025.

Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 6:30 am. Police located the vehicle’s driver and four passengers suffering from serious injuries.

The driver, a 30-year-old Cloncurry woman, was administered first aid but sadly died at the scene. A 10-year-old girl, also a passenger, was transported to Doomadgee Hospital where she was later declared deceased.

Two other passengers were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while a third passenger remains in critical condition.

A 28-year-old Doomadgee man, who was known to the deceased, was arrested a short time later. Police have not released details of the man’s involvement but confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the community.

  • Police confirmed that the **28-year-old male suspect** was taken into custody and is assisting investigators.

The Forensic Crash Unit, in conjunction with local investigators, is examining:

  • Evidence collected at the scene, including tyre marks, debris patterns, and possible vehicle damage indicators.

Police are continuing to support the Doomadgee community and confirmed there is no further risk to public safety.
