Incident Overview

Two drivers died after a collision involving two cars at Weering in Victoria’s south-west on Wednesday, 1 July 2026. Victoria Police said it was investigating the circumstances of the fatal crash.

Emergency services were called at about 5.15pm to the intersection of Colac-Ballarat and Barpinba roads. ABC News reported that the intersection is in the farming area of Weering, about 30 kilometres north of Colac.

Police said two cars were involved and that each vehicle had one occupant. The initial release said the two people had not yet been formally identified. ABC News later reported, citing police, that the drivers were a 57-year-old man from Redan and a 52-year-old woman from the Warrnambool area.
