Incident Overview
A second person has died following a serious three-vehicle crash that occurred on 16 July 2025 on Johnson Road, Larapinta. Police confirmed on 30 July that the 77-year-old woman who was driving one of the vehicles has succumbed to her injuries in hospital.

Injuries/Fatalities
- Deceased: 76-year-old male passenger in the Kia Seltos – died in hospital (previously confirmed)
- Deceased: 77-year-old Forest Lakes woman, driver of the Kia Seltos – now confirmed deceased on 30 July
- Injured: 25-year-old female driver of the MG ZST – minor injuries
- Injured: 25-year-old male driver of the Renault Van – minor injuries
Crash Description
According to QPS, the crash occurred when the Kia Seltos lost control while travelling westbound on Johnson Road and collided with the eastbound Renault Van and MG ZST. Both occupants of the Kia were critically injured and taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital. Both have since died.
Road and Traffic Impacts
Johnson Road experienced significant disruption during the emergency response and investigation phase on the day of the incident.
Investigation
The Forensic Crash Unit continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. The cause has not yet been publicly identified.
