Police from the Forensic Crash Unit are renewing their appeal for members of the public to come forward as they continue their investigation into a crash that occurred at Kuraby yesterday (Sunday November 13).
The crash claimed the life of a 72-year-old pedestrian.
Officers are appealing to anyone who may have seen the blue Toyota Corolla hatch in the area around 7.45am, or who may have witnessed the crash to contact them.
Earlier: Police have charged a driver with dangerous driving causing death following investigations into a crash yesterday (November 13) at Kuraby in which a female pedestrian died.
Preliminary information indicates a 72-year-old local woman was walking on the footpath on Beenleigh Road around 7.45am when a vehicle struck her. She was declared deceased at the scene.
The driver, a 48-year-old Sunnybank Hills woman, was arrested at the scene and has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle whilst adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, driving while under the influence of liquor (UIL), fail to provide a specimen of breath for analysis or blood for test on requirement, fail to provide specimen of breath or saliva for road-side on requirement.
