Police have charged a 42-year-old Caboolture woman following investigations into a fatal traffic crash that occurred in Caboolture South on March 9.

It will be alleged that around 9.25am, a 77-year-old Burpengary woman was walking near Market Drive when she was struck by a silver 2017 Toyota Hilux.

The woman was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition, where she later died as a result of her injuries.

Following investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit, the driver of the Hilux, a 42-year-old Caboolture woman, has been charged with one count each of driving without due care and attention causing death.

She is expected to reappear at Caboolture Magistrates Court on June 6.
