The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for the driver of a white utility to come forward, as part of investigations into a fatal motorcycle crash at New Beith on Sunday September 11.
Preliminary information indicates that just before 2.30pm, a 15-year-old boy was riding a red Honda dirt-bike along New Beith Road, when he struck a tree after failing to negotiate a sweeping bend.
A fellow rider nearby raised the alarm however emergency services could not revive the 15-year-old.
Subsequent investigations indicate that a white utility was in close proximity of the dirt-bike in the moments leading up to the crash.
Investigators are now appealing to the driver of that vehicle, or anyone with information pertaining to the driver or utility, to make contact with police.
Police are also renewing their appeal for witnesses and motorists in the area who may have captured dashcamera footage along New Beith Road, Goodna Road, Old Greenbank Road and Middle Road between 2.15pm and 2.40pm, to come forward.
