A 58-year-old Scarborough man has been charged following investigations into a fatal hit-run at Margate on Monday night, 17 November. Police were called to Margate Parade at 11:27pm after a white Nissan Navara allegedly struck a 17-year-old Boondall girl before fleeing the scene. She sustained life-threatening injuries and died at the scene. The vehicle was located the following morning at a Scarborough residence, leading to the arrest of the alleged driver. He has been refused police bail.
