A pedestrian has died in hospital, after a crash on the Gold Coast this afternoon, August 30.

Preliminary inquiries indicate at 4.15pm the 86-year-old woman was walking across Grice Avenue at Paradise Point when she was hit by a car.

The Hollywell woman was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital but died later in the evening.

The driver of the car was not physically injured in the crash.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations continue.
