Police have charged a 36-year-old Mount Isa man following an investigation into a fatal traffic crash in Lanskey, Mount Isa, on Sunday, June 23.

Around 12.30am, emergency services responded to reports of a buggy rollover on Moondarra Drive, near Ryan Road.

A 49-year-old Gordonvale man was later declared deceased at the scene.

Following an extensive investigation, the 36-year-old driver voluntarily attended the Mount Isa Police Station where he was arrested and charged.

He was charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death and fraud.

He is expected to appear in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court today.
